Dennis Cowan, Owner and President of Wheelhouse Construction contributes over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. Prior to founding Wheelhouse Construction, Dennis owned and operated a construction business for over 15 years, focusing primarily on apartment building renovations, tenant finish and office space remodeling. His vast construction knowledge, genial client interactions, and innovative strategies have proven successful in the continued growth of Wheelhouse Construction. Dennis firmly believes that interpersonal relationships between clients and the company, help to create a closer, more unique experience throughout the construction process. He also holds a class B general contractor license and is a long-time member of NARI, the National Association of Remodeling Industry.

In his spare time, Dennis gardens, grills, works on home projects and visits Grand Lake with his wife of 27 years and triplet children.

Zvi Rudawsky, CPM® is a Principal at Wheelhouse Construction and is responsible for the financial overview and performance of the company. Zvi works closely with property owners and investors to develop value metrics and insights that drive construction and renovation scope in order to maximize return on investment. Zvi has an extensive background of more than 20 years of experience in real estate operations including property management, asset management, real estate owned (REO) management, appraisal, due diligence, construction management and asset disposition. He holds the designation of Certified Property Manager (CPM), is a licensed real estate broker in Colorado, and previously held a certified residential real estate appraiser license. He also served as President of the Northern Colorado chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) from 2002-2003.

Zvi enjoys fly fishing and mountain biking in his free time.

Tom Schicktanz


Tom Schicktanz is the Construction Administrator for Wheelhouse Construction and serves as the primary office interface between the company and its subcontractors, vendors and partners. Tom is responsible for the day-to-day business operations of the company and is also responsible for managing a wide variety of specialized construction projects.

Before joining Wheelhouse Construction, Tom was the V.P. of facilities for Boutique and Wheelhouse Apartments where he oversaw 45+ apartment buildings with over 1,000 apartments under management. Tom also has over 18 years of experience in the data and software industry with focus on business analysis, project management and control, and portfolio management.

Tom is a sports fanatic, animal lover, avid road tripper and golf hack.

Mike McClure


Mike oversees the day-to-day progress of each construction project, including the scheduling, supervision and management of subcontractors. He is also responsible for the scheduling of equipment and supplies, maintaining the budget and meeting construction deadlines.
Mike has experience supervising projects and people, most recently as a Project Superintendent of CLD Construction, where he managed the extensive remodel of high-rise apartment buildings, and supervised crews to complete jobs efficiently, on-time and on-budget, while maintaining a high level of quality and a safe work

Luke Schultz-Burrey

Master Plumber

Luke is a highly qualified Master Plumber with over 20 years of experience in the industry. Prior to his career at Wheelhouse Construction, Luke spent 18+ years performing plumbing installations in custom, high-end residential homes and commercial buildings. He is currently the Head of Wheelhouse’s Plumbing Division. His accumulated knowledge of plumbing principles and techniques contributes to the successful outcome of Wheelhouse’s construction projects. He holds a State of Colorado Master Plumbers License and a Plumbing Contractors License.

Luke enjoys hiking and camping with his wife and dogs and going mountain biking.

Tanner Johnson

Plumbing Division

Tanner is a newcomer taking on the role of Apprentice Plumber at Wheelhouse Construction. He began his professional experience in the construction industry and then transitioned into the plumbing trade. He has almost a decade of plumbing experience and looks forward to becoming a Master Plumber in the future.

In his off time, Tanner likes to work on his car, go hiking in the Rocky Mountains or occasionally relax at home with movies and playing games with friends.

José Hernández

Project Manager

Jose started working in the construction industry 17 years ago. He began in the construction labor sector and quickly advanced into the project management side of the business. He has extensive experience managing multi-family residential and commercial construction projects and brings his acquired talents to the Wheelhouse Team.

Jose loves camping and fishing in his spare time.

Luke Martinez

Luke Martinez

Project Manager

Luke has over 15 years of experience in the construction industry. Most of his expertise has been working as an electrician, where he managed residential, commercial, industrial and tenant finish projects. He also has years of experience with access control, temperature control, building automation and IP based security systems. Luke strives to be his best and works hard to always learn new things and takes pride in meeting deadlines and completing projects, within or under budget. He has a great track record with scheduling projects, maintaining positive relationships with owners, vendors, subcontractors and others on the Wheelhouse team.

Luke enjoys backcountry skiing, hiking, mountain biking, camping and traveling to new places with his two dogs.

Cameron Cowan

Project Manager

Cameron grew up learning about the day to day aspects of the construction industry. As the son of founder, Dennis Cowan, he was exposed to the business side and the laboring aspect of growing a successful construction company. Cameron joined Wheelhouse Construction shortly after high school and is currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management. One of the great assets Cameron brings to the team is his youthful perspective and a keen knowledge of how to utilize technology to improve business processes. He looks forward to a fulfilling future of growth with Wheelhouse and loves following in father’s footsteps.

In his spare time, Cameron spends time off-roading and camping in the beautiful Rocky Mountains.

Kerry Lazo

Accounting & Office Administration

Kerry is the accountant for Wheelhouse Construction. She studied accounting at Metropolitan State University in Denver and has over 30 years in accounting. Prior to joining Wheelhouse, she was an independent contractor in a variety of industries including sales and marketing, commercial real estate, private equity investment, residential real estate and tenant finish construction.

Kerry and her husband love to travel and explore the world. She also loves cooking and eating delicious food, and enjoys sharing the fruits of her labor with friends and family.

Austin Mars

Austin Mars

Marketing Professional

Austin is a performance driven marketing professional and handles the Marketing at Wheelhouse Construction. He started his career almost a decade ago, working in professional product photography and graphic design. He possesses keen knowledge of Social Media Growth and Corporate Representation. His advanced marketing skills were developed over the years by applying a modern, influential style of graphic design to improve corporate presence on popular social platforms. In the last 5 years he has been focusing his experience and knowledge towards a marketing and advertising centric career.

Austin illustrates and plays high-focused competitive PC games with his wife in his spare time.
